Dissected Landscape is a miniature ink and encaustic painting on raw canvas. Each of the four individual 1.5 x 2 inch pieces are hand-stitched together into a 3 x 4 inch composition. The landscape is also mounted to a 6 x 6 inch acrylic painted gallery wrapped (1.5" thick) canvas with hand-stitching. My inspiration, like many of my landscapes, comes from the very flat coastal plains of my home environment. I am always in awe of the endless sky, huge clouds, and the color of the land and bodies of water here in coastal south Texas. The view is ever changing, but the flatness of the horizon line remains consistent.
